Dog Show! Cave Tour! And the Wing’s the Thing. November 1: Rent due. November 3: Wingapalooza 18! The top places to get chicken wings in Springfield compete for the coveted People's and Judge's Choice Awards in multiple categories. Top local bands perform. Boneless and traditional wing samples for everyone while supplies last: over 100,000 wings from over 25 booths were handed out to 4,500 attendees last year. AUGUST: A BIG PARTY FOR ROUTE 66

A big party for Route 66 … a sports trivia contest … and it’s back to school, kidsAugust 3-5: Park Day Reunion takes place at Silver Springs Park, bringing together friends and family from Springfield and around the country. The event name dates back to 1952, when Gerald Brooks, a teacher at Springfield’s Lincoln School, started a day of games and sports for young black residents at Silver Springs. 10 a.m.- 8 p.m., 1100 N.
